Weekly Arthur Farm Market Set To Debut on June 30
With the new season’s farm fresh local produce beginning to
become available, Arthur Merchants will again offer a weekly Downtown Farmers
Market every Saturday morning beginning on June 30 at the Gazebo Annex Parking
Lot in the center of Arthur’s downtown shopping area. The weekly market will
feature fresh produce from local Amish and English Farms.
Vendors are encouraged participate and bring in any kind of
appropriate market items including plants, produce, baked goods or crafts. The
market will be open from
Saturday, June 30 also is the morning of Arthur’s Famous
Fireworks and Freedom Celebration held later in the day at Jurgens Park on the
south edge of town. Arthur’s spectacular
fireworks display is expected to draw in excess of 25,000 spectators this year.
The Arthur merchants wish to encourage people to come early and spend the whole
day in Arthur. Start the day early and visit the Farmers Market and the stores
downtown, have lunch in an Arthur restaurant, and then lay early claim to a good
spot to view central Illinois’ best and largest fireworks show.
The Downtown Arthur Farmers Market will continue every
Saturday thru the produce season ending in early September. On the 3rd Saturday
of each month (July 21 next) the weekly Farmers Market will expand with baked
goods, crafts and antique vendors participating in the 3rd Saturday Downtown
Arthur Market held in the same location. (3rd Saturday Vendors are encouraged to
consider participating each week as the Farmers Market grows.)
